Hi. I’m Deb Olson. My interest in integrative medicine was sparked while I was working as a nurse in research at Mayo Clinic. My thorough study of patient records led me to believe our current system of health care wasn’t getting to the heart of the problem. Health practitioners were suggesting patients change their health behaviors but were not giving them the tools to successfully implement and sustain these changes. The medical model of prescriptions and procedures wasn’t leading to long-term behavior change. I wanted to empower clients – through affordable methods – so they could move forward and maintain optimal health and well-being.
I have a private practice, Living Alive in Rochester, Minn. I’m a Certified Health Coach, Certified Healing Touch Practitioner, Cancer Guide and Certified Laughter Yoga Leader. My vision is to help clients live joyfully with themselves and others. In my practice, I meet clients where they are and help them move toward their intended goals. After working with many clients, I’ve found that learning to love yourself is the key to unlocking your passions and purpose in life.
I received my B.S.N. (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) at University of Iowa and my M.S.N. (Master of Science in Nursing) at University of Minnesota
I use a variety of tools in my practice to help clients see their true potential and the meaning in their lives. I’ve completed certification in Healing Touch, Integrative Guided Imagery, Laughter Yoga and Integrative Health Coaching. I’ve also completed the Center for Mind-Body Medicine’s Cancer Guide, Food as Medicine, and Advanced Mind-Body Medicine professional training programs. I’m now pursuing certification in aromatherapy and Holistic Nursing. These certifications augment my 30 years of nursing practice.
I live in Rochester, Minn. with my husband, Mark. My self–care activities include reading, walks in nature, travel and visiting my children: Jeni in Chicago and Ronnie and his wife, Tiffany in Waconia, Minn.
I know one thing for certain. You are a special person, and I would like to work with you to help you realize that.
“Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens.”
